9.12.21 8 saved, 3 "major" healings, 1 other healing

Went to Foster Park. Share with 2 ladies and daughter. Ladies knew the Gospel and were encouraged to follow Jesus. The daughter wanted to pray and get saved. Two other kids came up and the mom had them all pray with us. Small group in the large pavillion practicing for a dance routine for a 16 yr old's birthday. Her mom got saved there a couple weeks earlier but she wasn't ready yet. They took and break and we went and said hi and she thought about it and was now ready to get saved. We kept asking the Holy Spirit whether we were done yet - one of us had something they wanted to do that day, so that was on our mind - should we stop or keep going? The Lord kept directing more people to go to every time we prayed. Met a family by the white pavillion at a picnic table under trees and the son prayed to get saved. They hadn't been going to church so we were able to give them contact info to a spanish church. Walked back around the the park. Went to a lady on the bench by the playground. As we went up, found she was deaf and was sort of talking and doing some signing. As I tried to spell words back, she was shaking her head no, and I thought she was saying she didn't believe in jesus. Then I realized that I was siging in English, but she knew Spanish so we had a double communication gap. Her younger son came up and was able to help translate a little. So, knowing she was deaf, we asked if we could pray for her ears and she was open. Prayed the first time nothing. Second time, she motioned to her son that she could hear a little better. We kept praying until she said she could hear good. Shared Spanish Gospel materials - showed her a prayer of salvation. Couldn't have her pray with us, but she was nodding her head in agreement. Next was a lady at the playground with Thyroid cancer. As my wife prayed the Holy Spirit made it obvious that the spirit went out of her. We then pressed in more for the physical healing part to be done. As we stayed in that area talking to people, a little boy did something on the slide and was crying and saying he couldn't feel it - his knee or leg. His dad was rubbing it so we got a little bold and went up and said we would pray for it if they wanted. The dad asked his son and the son said yes. So, we prayed and it felt better, prayed another time or two and he said it didn't hurt any more. We then told him about Jesus and he never asked Jesus into his heart and he wanted to. Afterward he just stayed and listened to us very intently, wasn't distracted or didn't want to go around and play. The Lord really touched him. The Holy Spirit kept directing to stay - so we died to self and stayed to do what He wanted, not what we wanted. Another two people heard the Gospel and got saved. Others He directed us to to sow the Word so He could use it. At the end as it was getting dark there were a few left and we asked a group at a table. The daughter said her mom had arthritis. We told her let's pray for her, the Lord will heal her. She got her mom off the phone. Her hands were somewhat deformed by the arthritis. We started praying and asking how it felt. The pain kept going away. We prayed until she said it was all gone. She moved her hands around and her arms up and down and she had no pain. We didn't know her arms hurt too. They told us she had had that for 16 years. Just think, this lady has suffered with this pain for 16 years and now in a few minutes Jesus took the pain away. And it's so easy, because we don't do anything! Jesus said to pray for the sick to be healed so we do. We don't feel anything, no big power, Jesus just heals them. It was one of those times when Jesus was very present in the midst doing all kinds of things one right after the other. Saving, healing, and giving the Word to those who just needed to hear. For revival to happen and Jesus ministry to take place, we have to die to our own pleasure and take up Jesus' pleasure. We could have gone for a couple hours and left - and all these people would have missed what Jesus had for them. It's not easy - we will have a battle. But we can ask Jesus to keep us going and not let us fail. He will deal with us - it's by Him - not us. None of us can take any credit because it's only by Jesus dealing with us that He gets us to do what He wants. And all this is to His Glory - all Glory belongs to Jesus. He does it all.

8.14.21 Broadway Outreach Downtown

We were led to walk around downtown. Followed as the Holy Spirit directed team members. After one turn down a street a man came walking by. We asked him about prayer needs and he opened up about being really discouraged and about not being here after today - he was very low and prayed that morning to God that something needs to happen. So then God put us together just when he needed it. He left encouraged, knowing that God was hearing and cared.

As we were driving back from Illinois, we saw the convenience store that we stopped in a few years ago in a small town with Coach Glen, for old time's sake and to remember the mini-revival that happened there that time. (He is in Heaven now worshiping Jesus.) At that time, came out of the restroom and Glen was praying for one of the ladies and the Lord lengthened a short arm, healed the other one's back, a brother came in and got saved, then we went on our way rejoicing in the mini-revival that Jesus just did. So we stopped in the store to check it out to see what the Lord might do this time. The lady that was working wasn't open so no open doors there. So we got in the car and as we were going towards the exit, the Holy Spirit pointed out a Subway right across the street with the fire to go in there. We did and were able to share the Gospel with two young people working. They felt funny and were working and didn't want to pray to get saved, but we felt really good about it in the Holy Spirit that we did what He wanted and that He moved again on that same intersection. We could have driven past and nothing would have happened. The Holy Spirit is a person. If He isn't moving, we can take initiative and do something, and He will respond and start moving. "Hey look, they're doing something - ok let's do it!"

Two families saved

Foster Park outreach - ended up on the walking path by the golf course. Met the first family along the way. The mom asked for prayer right away because she was pregnant and had two miscarriages previously. Then we took her and the kids through the tabs. They believed in God and Jesus but were not sure they would go to Heaven. They all prayed with us a confession of faith in Jesus as Lord. Second family was again a mom and kids walking. They also weren't sure they would go to Heaven. They were very open. After going through the tabs, the kids (from young to high school) got it. After explaining and point out the green tab, that is reads "will be saved" most changed their response to 100% sure. We then pointed out that they got that straight from reading the Bible verses and not from us. You could see that it resonated with them. They also prayed a confession of faith in Jesus. Some still had some doubts so we dug a little and asked them why they felt that way. One was because they knew they hadn't treated their friends right. That one prayed on their own about it. After that they had peace and felt confident that Jesus forgave them. There are so many people right at the edge. The field truly is ripe for harvest and the laborers are few. There is plowed ground waiting to be reaped.

No-one has posted in a while, but teams are still engaging and people being touched! March - 2 people saved at Headwaters playground during Broadway outreach. 4.3.21 Two ladies, mostly spanigh speaking - young girl did very good at translating for us so all could understand and join in. Prayed to be saved after going through the tabs. 4.10.21 1 saved downtown during Broadway outreach - street corner at library - young lady wanted prayer as she had been drug free for a month and was getting back with God. Spoke with a man who wasn't sure he would go to Heaven - took him through the tabs and he was ready to pray and re-commit his life back to Jesus.

The Seed Planted - the Work of God being done!

In giving testimonies I think this needs to be posted. As teams go out, people have been encountered that never really heard the Gospel explained to them clearly as to what it takes to be saved and go to Heaven. When asked, they aren't sure they would go and are open to hearing about it. So the teams plant the seed of the Word in them. This group of people, when hearing, are not ready yet to commit their lives to Jesus. But this is very important, because now that the seed is planted, God can use it and work in their lives to bring them around to the point where they are ready to commit to Jesus. No one ever picks the fruits from a garden without someone first planting the seeds so they can grow. When we plant, this work is just as valid as when we get a glory and people get saved. God has to have something to work with in their life, and that something is the Word of God, the good news planted in them. So be encouraged and know that anytime you are sharing the Good News, the work of the God is being done!

As a team walked the streets of West Central Neighborhood, they encountered a few people along the way who were already saved but open to being prayed for. As they still sought, though, to find those people that need to be saved they continued. In walking they ended up across from Swinney Park. As they paused and talked about one of the historic houses, a man came walking from the park across the street up the sidewalk past the team. As they spoke to him he was willing to stop and talk. They asked him between 0 and 100% how sure he was he would go to Heaven. His response was 75%, and we wanted to know how to be 100% sure. So the team shared the Bible and Band with him. In explaining about the verses, it came to a point where he asked how do we get our sins gone. So they told him the answer was in the green tab. The man was very open and invited Jesus into his life. Afterward he was smiling and you could see he had joy. He was a church goer, but never had this explained to him. He was glad to exchange info so the team will be following up with him. In all the walking and talking along the way, not sure which street or turns the team would make, it's amazing how God works that out and brings people in contact at just the right time to get the Word to them!

Lately there are not always large groups of people, but as we wait on the Lord He arranges it so we meet the right people. One team was working in a park, walking through, waiting at times for new people to come. As they walked to a pavilion they found a young man sitting at a table. In talking they found that he had started going to a church on Sundays he was not working and that his grandmother was a Christian. Turns out he was seeking the Lord. We took him through the band and verses and found he had never had it explained that way. He was ready and invited Jesus to come into his life. Since he had already started going to a church he was already taking steps on his own to be able to grow in the Lord. The Lord had this timed in that this young man needed to be instructed on how to get saved so He arranged this meeting. As we go out, we don't know the plans that God has for people and how He works to speak to people at the right point in their lives as one of the steps He is working in them.

Back healed and kids saved 7-1-19

Our team walked up to a porch where a mom and three kids were sitting at sunset. The mom was getting her back rubbed by the young girl. We asked if she had pain? She said yes she had broke her back at work a couple years ago and had had pain ever since, all the time. We asked if we could pray for her back? We laid our hands on her in three places where it had been broken. The Lord was faithful and sent pain relief right away. She was very surprised and moved around a little bit. She said it was still hurting some, so we prayed again. This time she had no more pain! The Lord had healed her back completely at that time! She was so surprised, she said, "I have to sit down so I can think about what just happened!" Her 9yr old daughter was so excited, she said, I want Jesus too! She also had a 12-year-old boy,and a 5-year-old boy. Our team led each child through the Bible verses, making sure they understood what that meant. They asked Jesus to come and live in their hearts! The Lord is faithful to provide what we need and always close by.

Freedom for the Captive. 6-3-19

Our team went to a retirement community for a picnic/party. We prayed with many people for healings and pain. Afterwards we went inside and ate picnic food. As I sat with a Lady who was a resident there, the Holy Spirit started speaking to my heart on what she needed to hear. She was sharing with me a burden that she had been carrying in her heart for 50 years. She was trying to hold back tears as she was remembering and trying to decide what she could have done different perhaps. I asked her, if she remembered the Bible verse that said Jesus came to set the captives free? She said yes. I looked her right in the eye, and told her that she was that captive right now. That the Lord had came to set her free from that burden! She looked surprised to think of herself in that way. But as I prayed with her and asked the Lord to release her from that burden, she started to really cry and she realized that she didn't have to live with that anymore. Jesus died for our freedom, and when we receive it, we can have it fully!

We met a young lady recently at a picnic with her friends. I offered to pray with them and she readily agreed. After we prayed I gave them wristbands and a Bible. She said she found Jesus while she was in jail 10 months ago. She was very excited about Him and the fact that he helps her through her struggles as she is walking away from drug addiction. As we were talking with her, one of our team members asked if someone had prayed with her in the parking lot of Applebee's last summer? She said yes, and she couldn't believe that he had jumped out of a car and just prayed with her like he did. She said that was the worst time of her life, and that prayer started changing everything. When we pray with people, we don't often get to hear how their life changes, but on this day we did! What a Gift!! We prayed for the Holy Spirit to fill her up, and to continue to direct her life. We prayed for all her friends and their needs too. We also prayed for a healing for her and the Lord did it right then and there! The look on her face in the picture says it all! Thank you Jesus!

1 Saved 1 Hears the Good News

Sunday a team went to Foster park. As they went they first encountered a few believers. Then they encountered a lady at a bench watching the kids at the playground. In talking, they found out that the lady was raised a Jehovah's Witness and had enough of the rules and religion. The team was able to take her through the tabs and explain that its about God loving us and wanting a relationship, not following a bunch of rules. She felt she wasn't good enough to make to Heaven so they explained the blue and green tabs, how its a gift of grace by faith. All this was new and she wasn't ready to get saved but said she had not heard it explained like this. The team prayed that the Holy Spirit would go with her and continue to talk to her about it and reveal Jesus to her. After this they encountered another lady on a bench. When asked the question, she said she wasn't sure she would go to Heaven. The team took her through the good news. She was willing to pray and ask Jesus into her life. She received the truth of the Word that by faith in Jesus He gives her eternal life. She already believed in Jesus and went to church. There are so many who are so close - they have a willing heart, even go to church but never had been shown in the Word how they can be sure of Heaven. When they are shown, they want it and are open. The harvest is ripe, There is ground out there that is plowed that needs someone to reap the harvest by giving them the simple truth.

Amazing Wednesday Encounters

Wednesday we were led to an area by a park, and as we got closer the Lord fine tuned our direction into a shopping center. We had 5 on the team so we broke into two groups. One group was led to a store where there was an open door to pray for people. After praying for a few who wanted it, we engage one person who just lost her mother, had a grandmother in the hospital and had other issues going on in her life. As we prayed Jesus ministered to her as the tears flowed as Jesus ministered life and inner healing to her. At the end she went through the verses and asked Jesus to come into her life. The other group encountered a young couple who were turned off by "church" in judging them. They talked for a long time and they appreciated it and good seeds were planted. Another lady was an Uber driver who drove someone in to Fort Wayne from 3 hours away. She came over to talk to us and we found she had pockets in her intestine from a procedure. We prayed and Jesus touched her as we prayed and talked and she felt things different inside. In two hours 5 people saw one person saved, one healed, two received the word ministered to them, and more were encourage and prayed for. Just think what would happen if even half of the thousands of believers in Fort Wayne did this one per week or every two weeks or even once a month? It wouldn't take long for Fort Wayne to be saved! How do we start?...  Come to engage days, get trained and reach the lost.

`A team went out to engage Sunday at Foster park. After talking to a few people they were able to spend time with a father and son. They spoke a little English and the team members a little Spanish. The father wasn't sure he would go to Heaven. Using the tools the team was able to share enough of the good news that they got an understanding of how the blood of Jesus makes us good enough for Heaven. They both prayed together in Spanish to invite Jesus into their lives.

On the Wednesday evening outreach out ream went to Foster park. The Lord showed one of the team members a man under a tree. We had 5 on our team so we split up. One part felt led to stay right where they were, and after a while a lady came by with a face mask on because of allergies. The lady spoke up right away and wanted prayer. The other part of the team found the man under the tree and while the other team members spoke with the wife and child, the other team member engaged in a good conversation with the man. Seeds were already planted but through the engagement he was led deeper in the next steps God has for him. The other half of the team was able to take a family through the verses and prayed the salvation prayer with them.

I was in the downtown Subway one evening, and there were two young ladies who were talking to each other about their painful experiences recently. As I listened, I realized that they were not really listening to each other. They each were listening partially, then going on to tell the other another story about themselves. They were two complete strangers to each other. My heart was hurting for each of them because they really needed to be loved on and listened to properly. The Lord told me to sit near them and wait for an opportunity to share His love with them. An opportunity presented itself in their conversation when they asked me a question. So I answered, and asked them to come closer so that I could offer them a free gift of a wristband. We all prayed together. Over the next hour one of the ladies and I went through the Bible verses and talked deeply. (The other wasn't interested.) She shared many of her past hurts and confusion. I listened carefully and loved on her as much as I could in that hour. She was so thankful to have someone to share her pain with and to actually hear what she had to say. I encouraged her in her walk with the Lord, as she was already a believer, but had just forgotten how close he really is in her life. She asked me if she could have my winter gloves, and I gladly gave them to her in that moment. I told her she had to remember when she wore them, how much Jesus loved her! Praise Jesus for His Love!

Washed by the Word

My team was led to go to a local laundry mat recently. We asked permission to walk around and pray with people in there. We met and encouraged seven different people during the 45 minutes we were there. But the story that stands out the most from that outing, was when we walked up to a man who put his phone down and said yes he would like prayer. He had lost his job, and asked for stability and a sound mind. We prayed with him and encouraged him, and after that we spoke to him about the Armor of God. This is found in Ephesians 6. He was very thankful, and asked how we were led to speak to him there that day? He said the Lord had been sending people into his life over the last week and a half. He was so encouraged and relieved, he thanked us over and over for coming in and speaking to him. God is so good to make himself known to the hurting people who are struggling.

We were led to a local hotel by a vision when we were praying about where to go. When we arrived there we found four businessman playing pool. They welcomed us and we joined in playing the game and talking. Eventually the conversation turned around to the history of Fort Wayne and why we are called the City of Churches,(it was written on the hotel lobby wall!) We talked about the history of when Revive Indiana came to Fort Wayne in 2015, and how the churches joined together to share the gospel. One of the men was from Houston Texas, and when I asked if he had heard of Revive Texas he had! He was very interested in how we were led to come to talk to them in that hotel that night? He had learned about the gifts of the Spirit in church the previous Sunday, and was very curious on how they functioned in us that night. We shared and prayed with the man who wanted to know more and left him very excited about what the Lord did to reveal himself personally to him.

At the Broadway engage day in the morning we went back to the lamplight. Again there were people who wanted prayer for various things. One lady was having trouble with her ears. We prayed and asked how it is. She said one popped but she cold hear no better. So we prayed again and afterward we asked how it is. She looked surprised and said she could now hear better! We prayed for a man with pain in his fingers and hands. Afterward we asked how the pain was and he said zero, no pain. Jesus was so near because He loves those people and wanted to help them and meet their needs.

Healing - This one came to us

At the Wednesday night engage at First Assembly, one of the team members had been in contact with a bank teller who needed prayer for chronic pain in her back due to herniated disks. He called her to make arrangements to meet somewhere, and she realized she was close to where we were meeting so she came to us instead of us needing to go find the encounter. We prayed, looking to Jesus to heal her and remove her pain. As we prayed the pain level went from a 7 to a 3. We continued to pray until the healing was complete and she was pain free. Afterward, she could sit without being in pain, could twist her back, walk around, bend over - things she couldn't do before. Jesus is so amazing!

Our team went to the Lamplight to visit people. We encountered a couple people then went to the area where people were sitting waiting for lunch time. We prayed for the first man who had been in an accident and had pain all the time in his hands, arms and shoulder. After praying the first time, his pain went from an 8 to a 2. We prayed again. It went to a 1. We prayed some more and it went to 0. He was smiling and very happy from the tough of Jesus. Then another lady came over and asked for prayer. She was going into surgery because of a lump and she had fear that she was going to die. So, we prayed for the lump to go away and to be free of the fear. We couldn't check the lump right then but we believe Jesus touched her. He also took away the fear and she was really blessed and encouraged when we were done. After that two of us walked towards where a couple of team members were talking with someone. A lady saw us and asked if we could pray for her. She had fallen on a knee and had pain, and it also messed up a disk in her back. So, we prayed for her knee, and the pain got a little better. We prayed again and Jesus healed it completely. That's when she then told us about her back. So after a couple of times of praying for it all the pain was gone. Jesus also set her free of something. Afterward her whole face was lit up and her eyes were bright! Jesus was so present it was amazing. We just prayed simple prayers with no "struggle", and He healed them so easily! Jesus is good and He was there to touch those people with so many health needs.

On a Wednesday as we went out, we ended up in a cell phone store and someone on the team knew the manage from before. As we talked with him, one of the employees, a young lady came by and saw the wrist bands. We told her what we were doing and she started holding back the tears. She had recently lost her Grandmother who was the prayer and spiritual support in her life. As we prayed and talked, it became evident that Jesus was standing there with His arm around her. As we told her that, the tears came as Jesus touched her on the inside. After that we prayed and afterward her face was lit up and she felt a burden leave her. It is so amazing and wonderful how Jesus goes with us when we go out and stands present to save, heal and deliver! Really, it's that He is already out there reaching the lost, calling for us to come and join Him. So when we go, we are just going out where He already is. He is just waiting for us to do our part so He can then use it and do His part!

Fellowship

Jesus said "Go Make Disciples of all men..." We, that do Revive, have been trying to do just that with the people who receive Jesus for the first time. To meet with them and have Fellowship about what life with Jesus is all about. Tonight as we went to 3 different businesses to share with people, we started to realize something special was happening at each place. We were being received well and were able to pray with a couple of employees at each location. We could see by the end of the night that God had connected the employees by our being there. Now they can encourage, share, and support each other! What an Amazing God we serve!!

My team went into a local fast food place for a quick snack. While sitting there we prayed for two or three employees that came out to bring us our food and then take away our trash. The one young lady's request was that we would pray for her mother. She had been in and out of the hospital a lot lately and she was concerned for all her health issues. After we prayed with her we gave her a wristband and walked her through the scripture on the card. She had heard some of it before, but never explained in that simple manner. She asked Jesus into her heart and made him Lord of her life. We were not expecting our simple offer to turn into such a beautiful ending. We had not planned to do that at all, we were just willing to do what the Lord led us to do. Sometimes all we have to do is be willing to ask if someone wants a prayer, and the Lord brings them into his kingdom. All the glory belongs to him!

Marching with Jesus

It was a busy day for the marching band kids, and they were doing a final practice run through before they loaded the buses to travel 3 hrs to compete. A guard girl wretched her back when catching her flag and was in extreme pain. I saw her struggling to get up and down after she had eaten. I asked her if I could pray for her and if she believed in Jesus? She said yes to both. I said a short prayer for healing and explained to her that Jesus died for her sins and for her body to be healed. We each went on with our day. Eight hours later she found me and thanked me excitedly, saying "my back has felt marvelous all day"!! I hugged her and gave thanks to Jesus for his faithfulness! The band got gold with distinction! What a Wonderful day!

At the Wednesday night engage as we prayed for direction, one lady saw an arrow hitting the bulls eye on a target. Earlier she also got a lady in a red shirt with dark hair. So, we went to Target. We ended up praying for a few people who were working organizing shelves as we walked through the store. Then we ran across a young lady and as soon as one of the lady team members asked her about praying for her she started crying. Incidentally, she had on a red shirt and had dark hair. She had recently come back to the Lord and was praying for strength to stay with the Lord. Through the process she was ministered to and encouraged. On the way out a couple of guys came walking through and one was upset voicing frustration about how someone did him wrong. One of the ladies said something about needing prayer, and he agreed, but she said she was serious and we would pray right then. So we prayed for these guys and the Lord gave him peace and had a word for the other guy. It's something how we don't know what we will do, but Jesus tells us and directs us and we find those people out of the whole city He wants to touch right then!

Wednesday 9.19.18 one team went to a dollar store in town. They met a man and engaged him. The Lord had some words for him and he was ministered to. He ended up praying to invite Jesus into his life. Open people are out there, we just need to go find them.

God directed - open doors

Wednesday 10.3.18 we prayed as a team on where to go. One member saw lights as in stadium lights at a sporting event. One team member thought of a particular softball field. As we started going east another member really felt is was the wrong direction and felt directed to go West. After driving and encountering one man and praying, we drove back to the church area where we started and considered what sports fields were there. We went west from the church to the main road and went north then west again to Carroll High School as that is the only field we could think of. When driving into the lot we got to a certain place and found there was a soccer game going on and from our point of view there were two groups of lights just as one team member saw. The Lord opened doors. At the front gate, the two ticket ladies were very open to being prayed for - one just through a surgery and was having issues. Other things happened and at the end a couple of team members were able to plant seeds of the Gospel in a group of young people - some were muslims. They listened and it was very fruitful. In the vision about the lights, the lights he saw were sort of dim like they had just been turned off. So we waited and didn't leave until that happened. At the end we were the only people left and one of the head people asked us if we needed anything, so one team member spoke and explained and he was very open to prayer - in fact he said he prayed for the kids at the school every day. He was the assistant principle. There were two people left, a man and lady cleaning up. So we waited on them to finish and come out of the gate. The man wanted prayer for his unsaved children. The lady needed prayer for recently losing someone. While the ladies on the team were praying with her the man turned out the lights. The vision was fulfilled! We then felt released to go.

This Wednesday (9.26.18) we were directed to go to Walmart on N Clinton. As we arrived we realized it was not Walmart in particular but the area. We saw a group of young people at a table at Zesto as we drove by so we went there. One lady was able to pray with two ladies and share the band. Around the corner was the group of people at a table so the rest of us engaged them. One spoke English and Spanish, one spoke Spanish and one spoke Laotian and English. We shared the Bible and band and took them through the Gospel. Two of them prayed to ask Jesus into their lives. The Laotian girl was Hindi but heard the word and was encouraged the Jesus loves her and is very special to Him. We emphasized that Jesus makes us good enough for Heaven and that our works never can. Being Hindi she was looking towards works. It was a very good encounter and the Word was planted.

Coffee Hour

My team was leaving First Assembly Church to go out to share Revive on Wednesday evening and we were trying to decide where to go. I said I don't know where we are headed but I really need a cup of coffee before we get there! I went in to get the coffee and was telling the clerk how excited I was to be hitting the streets. I told her that we love to explain to people how important Jesus is in their lives and how to make sure 100% that they are going to heaven. We pray with people and offer the good news of being certain. As I was paying I asked her if she had any prayer needs and was she 100% sure of where she was going to be after she died? She wasn't sure and said she would like to hear the Bible verses that I talked about. I went to the car and got another team member and a Bible and we headed back in to share with her. The problem was the gas station was so busy that she had to keep ringing up other customers and we had no time to talk. We sent a text into the prayer team and asked for a lull so we could share the verses with her. Within minutes there was no more customers coming in! We went through all five color-coded Bible verses and no one interrupted. God is so Amazing! She had never heard these versus before, and was very excited to make Jesus Lord of her life! she is willing to meet with me and learn more about the Bible and what Jesus means in her life. We never left the gas station that evening, there were lots of encounters out in the parking lot and at the pumps. Sometimes you never get where you're going because where you're at is perfect for sharing! Praise the Lord!

Wednesday Engage - continuing in neighborhood

This Wednesday we went back to the same block in the neighborhood where we met. Going from house to house where most people weren't home, we got to one with a lady in her open garage. In answer to the question she responded that she needed prayer for alot of things. She was using a walker for knee and hip/back pain problems. We prayed for that and asked her to test it. So, she walked around, then go in her car and back out because doing that hurt earlier that day as she used her car. She said it didn't hurt. We also talked with her a while, and she showed us hand sewn items she makes and takes to people in nursing homes. She needed fellowship and was encourage by talking with us. The harvest is ripe and they are out there.

At the Wednesday Engage we were led to go to a street off the parking lot of the church where we met. We saw someone in their driveway so we stopped and went over and greeted him. It turns out he remember two of us from a year or two ago at a park in town. We talked and offered to pray for him. Then he asked if we wanted to come inside to talk and pray with the others in the house. So we went in and sat around the table and shared the Gospel with them and prayed for one with a health issue. The harvest is ripe... we just need to go find them.

I stopped at a subway on my way home from a church meeting. The young lady working seemed very stressed. She was working by herself and was running low on bread. It was a Friday night and there were lots of people coming in for food. I got my sandwich and stayed to eat in the restaurant hoping for a chance to pray with her. She said she had been to school all day, came right to work, and needed to go home after work to finish her math. She was struggling with her algebra. As business slowed down, I got a chance to talk with her a little bit at a time, trying to see if she had faith and if she would receive a prayer. Especially for help with her algebra! She was very interested and tried to understand what I was telling her about my faith. Turns out she was very hungry for the word of God! I asked her if she would go through five Bible verses that I had for her that could change your life? Yes! She wanted to know more about Jesus! About this time she ran out of bread and had to start turning customers away. Which made enough time for us to go through the Bible verses together. God works in mysterious ways! This young lady was very excited and said yes to Jesus as her savior! we will be meeting for her to learn more about the Bible a little at a time. It was a wonderful experience for both of us.

Great day at the My Father's House Engage Day! Out team was led to a shopping center where there was a dollar general. The lady at the register received prayer and afterward she could breathe better. She had asthma. Several people were encountered outside as we walked. One man had a toothache. The team prayed... was little better. They prayed again and it was better yet. They prayed a third time and all the pain was gone. Others wanted prayer for different things.. diabetes, family members, friends, etc. Seeds of the Good News were also planted in hearts.

I brought my seven year old son JJ and my five year old daughter Haddie to Revive Broadway one Saturday. As we formed our evangelism group, we prayed for direction. We had no path in mind. So, we asked God for a path. The Lord gave my son the word "Kyle" and my daughter the word "Indianapolis". Another child in the group mentioned that she used to be involved in some church activities out by Indianapolis road. I thought that was our clue. We set the GPS to head to Indianapolis road. Right away, we supernaturally encountered a father and daughter who were former neighbors. The timing was impeccable. 30 seconds sooner or later and we would have missed them as they rode their bikes out of sight. Then, our GPS path took us to KYLE road! Yes, it was an obvious decision to turn onto Kyle road! We prayed for a lady immediately in her yard. Another team member got a word "Body Shop" from the Spirit at the same exact moment we ran smack dab into a body shop on KYLE road! There, we got to pray over a young man and bless him future marriage to his fiance. Here is the point- the encounters were along the journey! As believers We can get so wrapped up in "destination evangelism" and "event based ministry" that God reminded us again that its the journey of life where ministry happens, not "lets go here and do ministry" or "lets go there and do ministry". Let God set the course, and then he will show up along the Journey! And of course, let the little children speak! The Lord used them to set the path!

Seed planted deeper by healing

A team went to a Park last Sunday to engage people. They met a young man from Thailand who was very friendly. He was connected with a family who included a Pastor of a church. The man was familiar with the Gospel but wasn't sure he believed it and wasn't really concerned if he would go to Heaven or not. He listened, though, as the team took him through the verses and explained that either we pay for our own sin or we commit to Jesus and He pays for them and gives us life. The team then asked if he had any pain in his body. He showed them scars on his right leg where he had surgery and demonstrated that he couldn't bend his leg all the way back at the knee and he felt pain when he tried. The team prayed for him and asked him to try it. He was amazed as the pain was gone and he could bend his leg back. As a result, he found out that Jesus was real and that there was something to what we were saying. He said he had been to church but never experienced anything like this. We were then able to share about the difference between going to church and really knowing Jesus and having a relationship with Him. He still wasn't ready to make the decision to commit to Jesus, but God is doing a deeper work in him now because he experienced God touching him. The seed of the Word will continue to work in his life now.

On one of the teams from Word of Life engage on Thursday, one of the members felt that they were to encounter someone who was dealing with suicidal thoughts. The team went to an apartment complex, and found a lady with her daughter. After talking for a little bit, the team member said he was there because of one word - suicide. The lady then broke down into tears. They talked and prayed and the Lord ministered to her. Afterward she hugged the team member and told him that he saved her life. We know that it was Jesus who saved her life - but the point is that she was right at that place in her life and this encounter happened right when she needed it and it was Jesus saving her life.

On the Thursday outreach from the Word of Life church, our team was led to go to Pontiac street. As we walked the area through some side streets, we encountered two people who were not sure they would go to Heaven. After going through the tabs they understood what it takes to go to Heaven and were then confident in their faith in Jesus. Then the last encounter was a lady sitting on a porch, that said the Jehovah's Witnesses were just there on Saturday and prayed with her. Then she said we could come up and pray with her. So we did, and took her and her son through the tabs. After that they both wanted to invite Jesus into their lives. After praying and talking the lady said how she felt like crying and didn't want to in front of her son. Understanding that the Lord was moving in her, we then prayed for her more, and the tears flowed as Jesus touched her life. She told how she was reading the JW literature at night, which told us she was open and searching. We explained the error the of JW's and how they come with partial truths then mix in their false doctrine. She felt betrayed by them and threw away their literature! Hallelujah its so good to see someone rescued from their evil deception. She is meeting back again with some team members who are going to follow up with her and give her materials with the truth to get her grounded.

Standing in the hospital gift shop, looking at things for sale. I heard the clerk talking to a visitor, about what a really crazy time it was upstairs with their loved one. I heard the Lord say you need to pray with that girl, not the customer, but the gift shop Clerk! I felt the Lord say she needs encouragement so she can really minister to people when they come in and talk to her about their stressful situations involving their patient upstairs. I started talking to the young lady, about what an important job she has of listening to the people when they come in. She said yes, a lot of people talk and even cry when they're in here because they are so stressed. I shared with her about things that God wants us to do to help others. I went through the wristband and the Bible verses with her also. She was a believer but hasn't been in church in a long time. I explained to her how the Holy Spirit gives us gifts to share with others to build faith. Then I asked her if there's anything she wanted to be prayed for? She couldn't think of anything, and I said I have something I believe the Lord wants me to pray over you. She was very receptive and we held hands. The Lord had me pray for her to be able to listen and minister into people's lives with His Love. I explained to her what that meant after the prayer, and that if she filled her spirit with God's Word, those words would change people's lives! I encouraged her to go back to church for support and learning. She was very excited and felt uplifted that God saw her. It was a very special time.

A team went to Foster Park last Sunday. At the end of the time they encountered a young couple who were very open to prayer. Afterwards the team asked the young lady if she was sure she would go to Heaven and she replied that she wasn't and she was interested in hearing how she could. As the team took her through the verses, it was evident in her answers that she still had a lot of JW works teaching in her mind - based on how many doors they knock on, how many studies they go to, etc. As they got to the blue then the Green tab, the verses really started speaking to her. The team had her read again the green tab a few times, and every time it made more sense to her. Then the team asked her, based on what she read, to say what it takes for a person to go to Heaven, then the light came on all the way as she went to express what she just read. She laughed and was amazed at how simple it was. She prayed to confess Jesus as her Lord. She said she felt good and relieved like a big weight left her. As she kept reading that verse the team could feel the joy of the Lord as Holy Spirit was speaking to her heart. It really was amazing!

On the Saturday Engage at MFH, teams went out to different areas. Our team went to the Wells St area where we encountered several people. We went to a gas station where we talked with a man who was on break. He was a Muslim and we had a good spirited time of talking with him. We did get some truth into him, so some good seeds were planted. After that we walked around and back to Wells St where we were led to go a certain direction. We went in one store where we were welcomed and the people working there (owners) prayed with us. Not feeling done, we went to another store where the manager was very open, let us pray with him and take him through the tabs. To the question about if he would go to Heaven or not, he said "truthfully, right now I think I would go south because of the things I did when I was younger". So then we told him that we had some good news for him. After going through the tabs, he prayed with us to ask Jesus to come into his life. He had some church when he was young. It's always good when you feel like the Lord is leading a certain direction and it turns out like that.

A team of 7 wnet out around the Broadway neighborhood not really having any clear direction from The Lord at first. As we walked, The Lord directed us to the corner of Jefferson and Broadway and we decided to pray again. After praying, someone got the color red and we looked across the street and there was a gas station with red on it. The owners gave us permission to pray for people. We broke up into a couple of groups and each group has several people to pray with. One group spent a lot of time with a man who was considering getting back to church with his family. He had some deep needs and the group was able to encourage him. Seeds were planted and we are trusting Holy Spirit to germinate the seeds in his heart. Some plant, some water, but God makes it grow. 1Cor3

Touched by God's Word

While a group of us were eating at a Chinese buffet the other night, a special encounter naturally happened with a six-year-old Chinese boy. We gave him a wristband and he started asking questions about what the colors meant. We shared the Gospel, he asked all sorts of good questions and then he began to read the Scriptures. When he read Romans 5:8 that says "but God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us", he took a step back and said "oh my goodness, I don't know why but my eyes have water in them." And he cried, understanding God's great love for him. It was powerful and beautiful to see the Word of God touch his heart.

Last month we prayed for a man with back problems that was in constant pain and the Lord moved and healed him and relieved the pain. We went back today to check on him to see how he was doing. He was having issues again... he said he felt better for some time then after going through some physical therapy pain has returned. He said as he went for his walks he was looking for us wondering if he would run into us again. He knew his help comes from the Lord. So, we again prayed for him. We prayed at first, pain started relieving so we just did what Jesus said to do... pray with importunity. We did and the pain kept getting less. Young Malachi was with us and as he prayed for the man's foot that was hurting the Lord healed it and the man could fell blood flowing through his foot and toes, which he couldn't before. He started moving his foot and when he stood up he did some things and he said he couldn't do that before. This time we were able to share the tabs with him and encourage him about being saved by faith. What about the pain returning? Does that mean that healing isn't real? Not at all. Things can happen with our bodies after we are healed the same as happens originally to bring pain. The object is to know that Jesus answers prayer and persevere in prayer until something happens, and if there is a back and forth, then we press in more fervently until we have the complete victory. If someone takes an asprin and pain goes away, but sometime later they get another headache, do they say that asprin is fake and doesn't work? Also we need to know how to stand in faith and keep what God gives us and not let it be stolen away from us. Knowing the Jesus touched him the first time encourages us even more that He will continue to heal him as we pray again, and we pray also for healing of whatever it is that caused the pain to come back. Jesus out of His love wanted to touch that man again and relieve His pain. We are called to pray for one another because sometimes things like this are hard and we need the prayers of our brothers and sisters.

Engage at the Arab Fest

We had a good day Saturday at the Arab Fest downtown. We got to share with a lady who was already a christian but had a chance to encourage her. Later, as we walked through the booths, we met a young man who was very friendly and open. He said he was a Muslim. He has Christian friends where he lives and has visited churches with them. We got to share the tabs with him and explain how Jesus took our punishment so we don't have to, so we can go before God free of sin - Jesus makes us good enough for Heaven. We also explained how this opens up a relationship with God - not just following a set of rules. We talked about all the different Christian denominations and how man made rules get in the picture. He agreed that this all seem s very confusing. After we finished, he said he had never heard these things explained like this and was very thankful. He lives out of town but we exchanged numbers and will keep in touch.

The Holy Spirit Deeply Touched a Young Boy

A group of people from one of the revive churches went to lunch after church Sunday. They were able to encounter a young boy, 6 yrs old who was the son of one of the people that work there. As they explained the yellow tab, the boy said he has alot of sins. When they got to the part how Jesus died for him, and explaining that our sins hurt God, his eyes started filling with tears and he said that his eyes are filling with water. It was amazing for them to watch as the Holy Spirit was moving deep inside this boy's heart to bring him to Jesus. His mother lives in the area of that church so one of the people will be following up with her. They boy had never heard the story of Jesus in his life. Now he has the hope of Heaven!

Worship the Lord!

At our last engagement day, we were led in live worship by Dillion, who did a wonderful job. Glory be to God that He gave her such a beautiful gift to be able to move people into a heart of Worship! The music stirred my heart greatly and when I led the training I could hear myself teaching something different than what I thought I was going to. The Holy Spirit was moving through our church in a powerful Way! Praise Jesus because the training he gave to equip the saints, was the best for them to use that day! He is always Faithful!

Watched Jesus Change a Man

Our team went back to see someone we have been followup with since last summer. She had someone she wanted us to meet and share the tabs with. He was friendly but had hard lines in his face as we talked. After a while we got to the tabs and started going through them. The truths started clearing up his understanding and he started to feel something as we read. After going through the tabs and explaining the Gospel we shared some other scriptures to that teach the truth regarding some other things we were talking about. During this time he started changing. At the end he talked about how he we have him all bubbly and he was holding his stomach and smiling. We looked and his face was totally different. The hard lines were gone, he was laughing and smiling. It's amazing that we could literally see the change as Jesus was standing there working inside that man as the Word was read.

We got together and went out to Engage on Sunday apart from an Engage Day event. We went to a city park where there were alot of people. We first engaged a group of four people at a picnic table who spoke mostly Spanish, but to different degrees English. One of the people also translated for us when needed. They were very open to prayer. After praying we gave them each a wrist band, and they were open to having us explain what the verses meant so we got to use the Spanish bibles. When we got to the green tab, the man reading lit up and said how he had never read that verse before, how it says we WILL be saved. He saw it was by faith. So after going through the verses and them understanding what it meant they prayed with us to make and confess Jesus as their Lord! We encountered another couple - also spoke Spanish. It was good in that the lady was taking English classes so we had a good time talking so she could practice her English and we could practice speaking some things back in Spanish. We took them both through the tabs and they both prayed to ask Jesus to be their Lord! We find a lot of open hearted people who believe in God but have never been shown how they can know they will go to Heaven when they die. Once they see it in the Bible they want it. They are on the edge but just need to be shown the last step of what it takes.
